Intro to traditional climbing in Swanage

Learn traditional climbing techniques in Swanage on this trad climbing course. You will cover the basics of traditional climbing over a 7 hour experience. During the day you will learn topics such as using the guide book, abseiling, gear placements, belaying building, and lead climbing. If you would like your own date then the rate will be a private guiding course.

We recommend that you have done the Learn to sport climb course first, or at least have indoor leading experience, before taking part. This course is just a taster of trad climbing, please contact us for a full bespoke ‘learn to lead’ trad course.

Trad climbing in Swanage

Swanage is a great location to gain more knowledge about trad climbing, and become an experienced climber. It has a wide range of routes and the limestone rock requires care when climbing.
