Our introductory course to outdoor climbing in Dorset is a great place to start and a good gift for an adventurous friend or family member. First time outdoor climbing?

Want to take the first steps to becoming an independent climber? You will be in safe hands. Eddy has been a qualified training instructor for over 2 decades, and has been running Dorset climbing courses since 2006. By the end of this course, you will have learnt enough climbing techniques to be comfortable on some more challenging routes. You will learn about the different equipment required for climbing, how to tie climbing knots, belaying, and some of the climbing lingo & communication skills required when climbing.

  • Group size: 1-8 people
  • Under 18s require an adult to be on session with them.

We really enjoyed our session with Eddy at Swanage for our intro to outdoor climbing. He tailored the session exactly to our needs and we got everything we’d want and more out of it! The session was well structured and extremely informative. We were never put out of our comfort zone and felt in control the whole time. We’ve both come out of it feeling confident to go out on our own excursions safely. I would highly recommend taking a course with Eddy and would happily go back for further courses. Thanks!
